Welcome back!
You may think so after what you are about to read. As many of you know, I have recently passed the CCIE Security Lab Exam. My next venture was planned to be the CCIE Voice. After assessing the landscape I’ve changed my mind. Here is what I am doing. It’s actually a little challenge. Do you think I can do it?
CCIE R&S in 90 days only using IPexperts End-to-End Program and the Cisco Doc Cd
Yes, you read it correctly. I plan on doing the CCIE R&S in 90 days using nothing but IPexpert products and Cisco Documentation. My study materials will include:
- Volume 1 Lab Workbook & Proctor Guide
- Volume 2 Lab Workbook & Proctor Guide
- Lab Mentoring Kit with Video Tutorials
- Video on Demand Lecture Series
- Audio Lecture on Demand
- Proctor Labs™ Online Rack Access
- 10 days of intense training in an IPexpert classroom facility
I’ll also be using the Online Study List for R&S (Maintained by IPexpert), and of course, the Doc Cd.
I think its going to be interesting and I know others have gone down this path before. You may be familiar with Tassos who has done it in 3 months. The difference between us is that this will make two labs passed in one year. That is, if I can do it!

Hey Brando – I know you can do it! Obviously you have all the support from our side!

Hmm, are you serious? I’m still “fighting” with the CCIE Security and will be glad when I got my number. If that’s your goal: go for it!

I think you can do it !!
Some time I heard a multiple CCIE being asked “how many labs are needed to pass a ccie lab?”
Answer: “Its not how many labs you do, its what you learn from each one”
I think the same applies here, its not the quantity of books, bootcamps, labs, etc someone take. It is what you really master from every material.
Ive meet engineers that eats lots of books reading them multiple times from start to finish, they attend to multiple CCIE bootcamp providers, stay Sundays until late night in the lab… and pass the lab until the fifth try…they are studying more, but not studying better.
my two cents =)

Hi Brandon,
I hope you can pull it off, and I hope you will get time to make some posts on the effort as well, so we can all learn from your struggle.
I wish you the best of luck!!

@Carlos: I totally agree, and I should probably point out that I have taught the CCNP curriculum for about 7 years, so I am not starting totally from scratch. I certainly hope that what I get out of this is quality. You make an excellent point!

Good luck with that. If you pull it off (and we all know you will), it will give me hope that I can actually motivate myself to take one CCNP exam.

I had taught NP classes for 5 years before I passed R&S, what it took for me was a month of dedicated lab time, I new I was ready when I was doing 2 mocks per day. I used Netmaster Class, and our own stuff @ Boson. You can do it if you want it bad enough. The question is how many teach days will you have during the 90 days?

Brandon, you can do it. That don’t mean your not nuts for putting yourself through two IE’s in one year
9 CCIETalk // May 20, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Wow. You are nuts. Go for it! Some of us are still chasing the first one

Nothing like a good challange
Have you passed the written yet? I did my R&S and Security exams within 12 months of each other, if you have any questions feel free to drop me an email.

All the best luck Brandon!
Btw, 90 days is usually shorter than 3 months

@Tassos Yeah I didn’t think that through so maybe i can change to 3 months. It’s going to be a hard run that I am already feeling I may not make. I may have gotten in over my head!!!!
