In my experience, the majority of IT staff with acronyms next to their names lack any real experience/knowledge. I tend to not hire anyone that has more than one acronym next to their name on a resume because it gets ridiculous. I do, however, respect a few certs - Cisco has a few I respect (but again, show me more than one in your resume and I will look at the next person) - really, only the highest ranking acronym is enough for me.

CCIE is enough to set people apart in this industry. Next year Cisco will have a Master cert where in order to qualify you need to pass CCIE, CCDE, and CCA...the test will be $50k.

Seriously, this is getting ridiculous.
